Scoville Heat Units (SHU):
40,000 - 60,000

The Variegated Pequin pepper is a rare ornamental-hot variety that combines striking beauty with intense flavor. Its foliage features a mesmerizing marbled pattern of creamy white, soft green, and deep emerald—a variegation reminiscent of the beloved Fish pepper and the Candy Cane Chocolate Cherry. Compact and bushy in habit, the plant produces clusters of tiny, oval peppers that transition from pale green to ivory, then orange, and finally a brilliant red as they mature. Despite their delicate size, these little peppers deliver a bold punch of heat, averaging 40,000 to 60,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), with a clean, bright burn and notes of citrus and smoke. Both ornamental and edible, the Variegated Pequin brings color and character to containers, garden borders, and sunny patios, while rewarding growers with a steady harvest of fiery, flavorful fruit. It’s a perfect choice for gardeners who appreciate plants that are as beautiful as they are bold.

The plants have that cool marbled look to them and I am really looking forward to trying the plants. Seeds were easy to germinate and I received some extras. Thanks!
