Scoville Heat Units (SHU):
10,00 - 25,000

Developed at Innovation Acre, the Torpedo pepper is a small torpedo-shaped pepper that have a mild to medium heat level. It's size is similar to a Serrano Tampiqueno, but the flavor and heat level is more similar to Cayenne peppers. Torpedo peppers can be used for salsa and hot sauce making as they have a little more heat than the Jalapeno pepper. Torpedo peppers are slightly sweet and bright but they have a nice kick that is not overbearing.

They grow to be about 3 inches in length and can easily be eaten raw as the skin is thin. It's a great pepper to add to the garden for those who like medium spice, but not superhot peppers. Based on the heat level of its parents, the Torpedo pepper is believed to be in the range of 10,000 to 25,000 Scoville Heat Units.
