When you see it, you can’t ignore its phallic shape. Named for its unique appearance, the Peter pepper is known for its phallic appearance when fully grown. It has been described as a “miniature replica of the circumcised male organ.” The Peter pepper has a  long conical shape and a bulbous end that shares an uncanny resemblance to a penis.

The Peter pepper has a medium heat level as it averages about 10,000 to 23,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). It’s hotter than a Jalapeno pepper and has a similar heat level to the Vegas Serrano. The pepper grows to four to six inches long and ripens from green to a red.  The taste of the pepper is similar to the Jalapeno, but has a slight sweet flavor. It can easily replace the Jalapeno in a dish for a spicier heat level.

Plants are shipped in 3 inch reusable plastic pots and are approximately 4 to 8 inches tall.

highly recommend these plants to any pepper enthusiast

The shipping was prompt, and the packaging was done with great care. Each plant was individually wrapped and secured, preventing any soil spillage or root damage. My only minor complaint is that the shipping cost was a bit higher than I anticipated, but considering the quality of the plants and the packaging, it was worth it.

    Plants arrived today looking GREAT!

Posted by Jason on 23rd May 2024

Growing the Peter Pepper plant has been an enjoyable experience. The peppers are truly unique in appearance, and they added a lot of character to my garden. They do need a fair amount of sunlight and regular watering, especially during dry periods. Once I got the hang of their care, the plants were very productive. The peppers have a nice, moderate heat and are great in salsas and hot sauces. Overall, a fun and rewarding plant to grow, though it does require some attention.

A Spicy and Unique Addition to My Garden

Posted by Cheryl on 22nd May 2024

I recently added a Peter Pepper plant to my garden, and it has quickly become one of my favorite plants. This pepper is not only a conversation starter due to its unusual shape, but it also packs a punch in terms of heat and flavor. The peppers are perfect for adding a kick to salsas, hot sauces, and even just as a garnish on dishes.
