Scoville Heat Units (SHU):
5,000 - 30,000

The Intergalactic pepper, created by pepper breeder Bryan Townshend of Towns-End Chili & Spice, is a fantastic variety for growers who love bold flavor and experimental genetics. This hybrid brings together carefully selected pepper lines to create a plant that is both vigorous and exciting to grow.  In addition to its delicious flavor, the Intergalactic pepper has a very unique ripening pattern with variegated pods and leaves.

The leaves of a single plant can vary in appearance, as some can be fully green, fully white, or have both green and white speckles and stripes. When the Intergalactic pepper is young, it is a solid creamy green color and milder in flavor. As it matures, the Intergalactic pepper often develops stripes and eventually turns a solid orange color when it is completely ripe.

Intergalactic peppers offer a lively, approachable heat with plenty of character, making them versatile enough for fresh use, sauces, and culinary experimentation.

The Intergalactic has not officially been tested, but it is believed to average about 5,000 to 30,000 Scoville Heat Units. The flavor is described as fresh and bright, while the medium heat level makes it a versatile pepper.
