The Chocolate Naga Viper, a creation by Steve Bender, is a cross between the original Naga Viper and the Chocolate Ghost pepper. The Naga Viper burst onto the scene in 2010 as the newest member of the Naga pepper family. The Naga Viper is a cross between three peppers: the Trinidad Moruga ScorpionNaga Morich, and Ghost pepper. Some even say that the 7 Pot pepper was also involved in the creation of the Naga Viper. The grower, Gerald Fowler of England, spent over two years developing the new pepper.

In 2011, the Naga Viper was briefly named the hottest pepper in the world by Guinness World Records, but it was eventually topped by the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, Trinidad Scorpion Butch T, and Carolina Reaper. The Chocolate Naga Viper is one of the hottest peppers in the world as it averages 900,000 to 1,300,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU) Its heat level is similar to the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion and the Naga Morich, and its slow burn is comparable to that of the Ghost pepper. The Chocolate Naga Viper's flavor is described as fruity and sweet, but its spicy heat level eventually kicks in to create a extreme burn.

At Tyler Farms, we grow our plants the old fashioned way: no pesticides, no synthetic fertilizers, and we only use all natural fertilizers such as worm castings and fish emulsion. Plants are shipped in 3 inch reusable plastics pots and approximately 4 to 6 inches tall.
