Created in England by Nick Woods, the 7 Pot Infinity is one of the hottest peppers in the world. Woods created the 7 Pot Infinity pepper five years after he starting growing peppers for his hot sauces; he was not attempting to breed a new variety but there was accidental crossbreeding in his greenhouse that resulted in the creation of the 7 Pot Infinity, which averages over 1,067,286 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). In February 2011, the 7 Pot Infinity pepper briefly held the Guinness World Record for the world's hottest pepper; however, the Naga Viper was released just two weeks later and replaced the 7 Pot Infinity.
