Scoville Heat Units (SHU):
500 – 1,000

Originally from Brazil, the Bishop's Crown pepper is a very uniquely shaped mild pepper. The body of the peppers have very little heat and the wings are sweet and mild, making them a popular pepper for mild salsa and pickling. Because of its mild heat level, fruity flavor, and the unique appearance of the pods, Bishop's Crown peppers are a great addition to any garden. Bishop’s Crown peppers average about 500 to 1,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).

Bishop's Crown pepper plants are tall as they average about three to four feet in height. The peppers usually have three or four flat-wings and look somewhat like flying saucers. The heat level of Bishop’s Crown pepper is milder than both the world famous Jalapeno as well as the Cherry Bomb pepper. The “flying saucer” Bishop’s Crown pepper matures from green to red.
